Welcome to Behali Degree College, an institution of academic excellence and one of the finest colleges affiliated to Gauhati University. Our motto is "BLOOM AS LOTUS" i.e., our commitment to strive for the bright future of our students as most of them belong to poor families of rural areas. We want that our students should be imparted an all round education so that they become multidimensional rather than uni-dimensional. In our view, acquiring information is no longer the main focus of education; instead the main aim of education is to build the powers of human mind and spirit. The educational scenario is going to be changed in post COVID pandemic time. We are heading towards new normal situation where maximum focus will be given on online education system apart from the traditional system of education. We believe in providing our students an environment, rich in knowledge and supportive for all type of changes that are going to be introduced in the field of higher education. To evaluate our students on the basis of their physical, mental, social, emotional, intellectual development as well as their performance through online based system is our aim.
There are Thirteen (13) departments (Assamese, Botany, Chemistry, Economics, Education, English, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit and Zoology) and our teachers work hard throughout the year with the students to provide them quality education in the form of debates, group discussions, workshops, symposia, seminars and cultural competitions etc. We feel proud to acknowledge the contribution of highly qualified, dynamic and multi-talented faculty and dedicated non-teaching staff of the college. We want to assure that our faculty members have been preparing themselves to work in the post covid situation. They have been participating in various teaching learning programs such as FDP, webinars, short term courses, and workshops etc. to enrich themselves. In this respect our faculty members have been highly benefitted by various relevant programs conducted by ICT academy during the Lock Down period due to the outbreak of covid-19.
